Brooke Goldstein urges NYC synagogue-goers to retain The Lawfare Project following anti-Israel mob actions outside synagogues

Following violent anti-Israel mob actions targeting New York City synagogues in recent days, civil rights attorney Brooke Goldstein, Founder and Executive Director of The Lawfare Project, is urging congregants and Jewish community members impacted by these incidents to retain The Lawfare Project—at no cost—and pursue legal action against the organizers and affiliated groups connected to terrorist organizations.

Several arrests were made Monday evening following physical confrontations and acts of intimidation targeting Jewish attendees and community members outside Young Israel Senior Services of Midwood in Brooklyn. A similar incident outside Manhattan’s Park East Synagogue last week resulted in the hospitalization of a police officer. Both actions were organized by PAL-Awda NY/NJ, the New York/New Jersey branch of Al-Awda (The Palestine Right to Return Coalition), the Palestinian Youth Movement, and Within Our Lifetime. Al-Awda supports Hamas, applauded the October 7 massacres, and is linked to Samidoun, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. 

"Jewish New Yorkers should not have to face threats or violent mobs for attending lawful events at synagogues or Jewish communal spaces," said Goldstein. "We are calling on those impacted by these antisemitic actions to retain The Lawfare Project so we can pursue every available remedy against the individuals and organizations responsible."

The Lawfare Project is reviewing potential legal claims arising from these incidents, including harassment, intimidation, incitement, and unlawful coordination involving groups tied to U.S.-designated terrorist organizations. The organization will provide free legal counsel to impacted community members.

"We will not allow New York City synagogues to become targets for mob intimidation," Goldstein said. "Those organizing and facilitating these actions must understand there are legal consequences for terrorizing Jewish communities, and The Lawfare Project stands ready to represent those whose civil rights have been violated."
