Lawfare Project to represent Jewish DePaul University students

On April 2, 2025, The Lawfare Project, in partnership with Grant & Eisenhofer P.A., filed a lawsuit against DePaul University on behalf of Jewish students Max Long and Michael Kaminsky. This legal action comes after a violent antisemitic attack against the two students in November 2024. Max, an IDF reservist, was assaulted by masked attackers while discussing Israel's defense efforts on campus. He suffered a concussion, and when Michael intervened, he sustained a wrist injury that required surgery. DePaul University’s failure to protect its Jewish students, despite prior incidents of violence and escalating antisemitic rhetoric on campus, is the core issue of the lawsuit. The attackers remain at large, and Max and Michael continue to face harassment both on campus and online. The lawsuit seeks justice for the victims and aims to hold DePaul accountable for its negligence in safeguarding the safety and civil rights of Jewish students.
